Information Collection & Use
Business Law Network (“BLN”) is the sole owner of the information collected on www.bizlawnetwork.com (the “Website”). BLN collects personally identifiable information from our users at several different points on our Website or via the BLN Platform. The”Platform” is the software platform owned by BLN accessible via the Internet and/or mobile device that lawyers and visitors to the Website can use to communicate with one another.
Registration by Lawyers.
If you register with the Website, we will collect personal information from you. That personal information may include your name, email address, mailing address, telephone number, biographical information, picture, user name and password. The information we collect may vary, but we only collect the information that you manually enter into our forms or otherwise authorize us to collect except that authorized BLN personnel may update your registration information to accurately reflect any new information included in communications received from you. If you choose to register with us and you otherwise meet the guidelines for registration posted at our site from time to time, you’ll be able to add content to our site and to personalize your BLN site experience.
Submissions to Website
In order to use some aspects of this Website, you must first complete a form describing your legal need to request a consultation with a lawyer. You are required to give contact information (such as name and email address). BLN or lawyers in the BLN Network may use this information to contact you about your registration or request for consultation.
If you decide to engage a lawyer to address your legal need, the lawyer may use the BLN Platform to request information from you regarding your legal matter. Any communication via the Platform between you and your lawyer regarding your legal matter is not private and may not be an attorney/client privileged communication. BLN recommends that you do not send any confidential information regarding your legal matter using the Website or the Platform.
BLN or your lawyer will request certain personally identifiable information from you in order that BLN may process payments from you to that lawyer. You will be asked to provide contact information (such as name, email, and address) and financial information (such as credit card number, expiration date and billing address, and bank account information).
BLN uses this information for billing purposes and to provide payment services. If we have trouble processing a payment, we will use this information to contact you.
From time-to-time we may provide you the opportunity to participate in surveys on our site. If you participate, we will request certain personally identifiable information from you. Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information typically includes contact information (such as name and address), and demographic information (such as zip code). We use this information to personalize the Website or improve services.
We may use a third party service provider to conduct these surveys; that company will be prohibited from using our users’ personally identifiable information for any purpose other than providing the survey results to us. We will not share the personally identifiable information you provide through a survey with other third parties unless we give you prior notice and choice.
Communications from the Site
We may occasionally send you information on general legal issues that may be of interest to you.
Out of respect for your privacy, we present the option not to receive these types of communications. Please see the “Choice and Opt-out.”
If you wish to subscribe to our newsletter(s), we will use your name and email address to send the newsletter to you. Out of respect for your privacy, we provide you a way to unsubscribe. Please see the “Choice and Opt-out” section.
We will send you strictly service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send you an email.
Generally, you may not opt-out of these communications, which are not promotional in nature. If you do not wish to receive them, you have the option to deactivate your account.
Based upon the personally identifiable information you provide us, we may send you a welcoming email and/or acknowledge your registration or submission of a request to the Website. We will also communicate with you in response to your inquiries, to provide the services you request, and to manage your account. We will communicate with you by email or telephone, depending on the type of communication.
We store information that we collect through cookies, log files, clear gifs, to create a “profile” of your preferences. We do not tie your personally identifiable information, nor your payment history, to information in the profile. We do not share your profile with other third parties. We may share information from your profile in aggregate form only and with all personally identifiable information removed.
Supplementation of Information
In order to provide payment processing services to you, we may on occasion supplement the personal information you submitted to us with information from third party sources.
We use a third party service to verify your address in order to process a credit card payment via the Platform.

Personally identifiable information:
We share personally identifiable information with BLN lawyers you choose from the Website.
We use third parties to provide payment processing and collection on our Platform, and a credit card processing company to process any credit payments for services. When you engage a lawyer through the Website we will share your name, contact information and financial information as necessary for the third party to provide that service.
These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any other purposes.
We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Website. If we receive a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process that requires disclosure of any communication via the Platform between you and your lawyer regarding your legal matter, we will provide you and your lawyer with reasonable prior notice so that you may contest any disclosure, if desired.
We provide you the opportunity to ‘opt-out’ of having your personally identifiable information used for certain purposes. For example, if you do not wish to receive any marketing material from us, you can contact us at any time at email@example.com and your name will be removed from our marketing database.
If you no longer wish to receive any newsletter and promotional communication, you may opt-out of receiving them by following the instructions included in each newsletter or communication or by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the site and to track users’ movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We do not link this automatically-collected data to personally identifiable information.
